About this extension
Google Registry's extension for developers, open to everyone since 2019. The whole extension is on browsers' HSTS preload list: a .dev site only loads over HTTPS and does not load at all without a valid certificate. That makes the TLS section of the result page especially relevant for .dev names.

What a .dev WHOIS record shows
The result page shows the registry's RDAP record: registrar and IANA id, abuse contact, dates, explained EPP status codes, nameservers and DNSSEC. Since ICANN retired the classic WHOIS requirement at the start of 2025, RDAP is the authoritative source for .dev; an individual registrant's personal details are usually redacted.
Next to the registration data you get live DNS, SPF/DMARC, the TLS certificate, the HTTPS response and the abuse
history of the hosting addresses on ip-db.com. Type just a name
(e.g. example) and .dev is added; the same data is available from the JSON API.
